Surface Pattern
Been toying with surface pattern a lot lately so imagine my joy when I saw the Tigerprint competition this month was…tadadadadadadaaa….surface pattern.
I duly got to work on a simple illustration that reflected Spring, played around with colours and composition….then I read the terms and conditions of submitting my work as an entry to said competition and swiftly changed my mind…I’ll keep it as a souvenir instead 
Not my usual sort of thing – experimenting with my Wacom again (correct drivers all downloaded and installed) and limiting myself to B&W plus one colour…and 2 images in one (but that started off by accident…shhh)
Maybe I could create a whole series of birdies…

In an effort to get myself back into the habit (not Whoopi Goldberg style, even though I must point out I’d make a perfect nun impersonator), I am going to make an effort to stay on top of my sketching. I’d prefer to be doing so with real live lovely paints but my youngest little monster boy is at that stage in his life where he wants everything. NOW. Yes ladies and gentlemen, he’s 2. Its a good job I like learning new tricks.
Anyways, here is todays effort. I have dogs on the brain at the moment for reasons I shall share at a later date…
